A no stamp card using the Poppy Moments Dies

Today’s card is a no stamp card using the Poppy Moments Dies. I am pleased that the Poppy dies, originally from the Spring Catalog, have been carried over into the 2020-2021 annual catalog. I will get a lot of use out of this set! While there is a coordinating stamp set, this lovely card uses only the dies.

Versatility is the name of the game with the Poppy Moments Die Set. Depending on the colors used, you can create cards for any occasion.

Supplies Needed: Poppy Die Set

Card base:
Melon Mambo card stock (115320) cut to 11 x 5 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.
The flower buds:
Melon Mambo card stock.
Poppy Blooms color combinations:
Bermuda Bay (131197)/Coastal Cabana (131297) and
Daffodil Delight (119683)/So Saffron (105118).
Greenery:
Granny Apple Green (146990) and Pear Pizzazz (131201)

Once I determined my color combinations, I die cut several of each element. Then I played around with them as though I were arranging a vase of flowers. After settling on an arrangement, the flowers, leaves and stems were adhered to the card base. If you plan to put a sentiment on the front of the card, be sure to arrange the flowers around the sentiment. I have left this one blank for the moment but I am leaning towards stamping “Smile” from the Daisy Lane stamp set. I’ve been sending out batches of Happy Mail because we could all use an extra smile or two these days!

This card is a great for making on the go! For example, you can cut out many images in multiple colors. Then, while watching tv, waiting in a carpool line or crafting with a friend, you can assemble the flowers and greenery. You are now ready to arrange the flowers on your card front or on a scrapbook page.

Product update:

For those who do not have a die cutting tool or are ready for an upgrade, get ready for the release of not one…but two….Stampin’ UP! cutting and embossing machines. One is a full size and one is a mini. The ends of the platforms on both sizes fold up for easy storage an portability. They are in the new catalog and will be available soon after the 2020-2021 catalog goes live.
